Session objectives
This session presents three studies on human rights and legal frameworks. First, Naomi examines the intersection between children’s rights and modern slavery. She applies the child rights framework to inform policies on modern slavery. Second, Alhassan identifies risk factors associated to child labour within the cocoa and fishing sector in Ghana. He reveals the importance of considering socio-cultural norms in intervention programmes. Third, Isabela uses a human rights perspective to study child marriage in Tanzania. She presents the relationship between child marriage and human trafficking.
